Recording PresentationAs the world faces the hottest year on record, tensions are high leading into COP28. This climate summit—set against the backdrop of significant global unrest and geopolitics—will demand courageous leadership and radical collaboration to limit long-term global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
The discussions will focus on several central themes. To start, the first global stocktake will be completed by COP28, where countries assess their climate progress toward meeting the goals of the Paris Agreement and jumpstart the development of their next climate pledges. In addition, global leaders and economies will come together to debate a global fossil fuel phase-out, accountability on net-zero commitments, support for nature-based solutions, and upholding climate justice and the just transition. The results from the conversations will set the tone for the trajectory of global climate action over the next few years.
We welcome BSR members to join this webinar to discuss the main takeaways from COP28 and what they mean for businesses in Asia and Europe as companies evaluate their strategies for 2024. We will be joined by corporate and BSR attendees of COP28 who will be able to share their firsthand learnings and impressions coming out of the event.
