Future of Reporting

Christine leads BSR’s Business Transformation team, helping companies to manage sustainability throughout their business and across their supply chains and to develop resilient business strategies that leverage insights from BSR’s Sustainable Futures Lab.

She works with companies across sectors and geographies to structure a sustainability management approach that mitigates risk and captures emerging opportunities, creating strategic advantage for their businesses, while contributing to a more just, sustainable world. Christine also co-leads engagement with boards of directors to promote effective board governance and leadership ambition on sustainability. 

She brings over 20 years of experience in leading brand, sustainability, public affairs, communications, and reputation management with multinational corporations at the executive leadership level. This also includes overseeing corporate relations with external stakeholders, such as the World Economic Forum, the UN, European institutions, and investors.

Previously, Christine was Head of Brand Strategy at Nokia. She has also held major roles at Alcatel-Lucent and Alcatel, leading Brand and Corporate Sustainability and European Affairs. Christine has also served on various boards, including as a chair of the Telecoms Industry Dialogue on human rights, as an advisory board member of Reuters Events Sustainability, as a member of the Alcatel-Lucent Foundation, and on the European Internet Foundation.

Christine holds a MA in History and a BA in History and International Politics from the University of Ottawa. She completed the Management Acceleration Program (MAP) at INSEAD, and she achieved the ESG Competent Boards Certificate and Global Competent Boards Designation (2021). She speaks English, French, Spanish, and Italian.

Full Bio

Taylor supports BSR member companies across industries with a primary focus on human rights and sustainability management.

Prior to joining BSR, Taylor worked as an associate attorney for a boutique firm in Denver, dealing primarily with international trade issues. He also worked for The Code, an NGO based in Thailand, where he worked with tourism companies around the world to prevent sexual exploitation of children. Additionally, he is a Security Fellow with the Truman National Security Project.

Taylor holds a J.D. with a certificate in International Law from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, as well as certificates in Public and Private International Law from The Hague Academy of International Law and a B.A. in Political Science from St. Olaf College.

Full Bio

Ariela works with BSR member companies across various industries on sustainability management, with a focus on climate change and human rights.

Prior to joining BSR, Ariela was an Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps fellow with Sustainable Jersey, where she helped New Jersey municipalities implement energy efficiency projects. Previously, she worked as a consultant with Amnesty International, where she helped develop the organization’s platform on tear gas. Ariela was also a research assistant for the Mexican Ministry of Health, where she researched the impacts of changing climactic conditions on dengue. Ariela’s experiences focus on the intersection of climate change, human rights, and health.

Ariela holds an MPA from Columbia University in Environmental Science and Policy as well as a B.S. in Society and Environment and B.A. in Public Health from UC Berkeley. She is a native Spanish speaker and is proficient in French.

Kaia works with BSR member companies across industries on sustainability management, with a focus on climate change, supply chain sustainability, and consumer sectors.

Prior to joining BSR, Kaia supported the development of the innovation and sustainability department in an alternative protein start-up, where she focused on developing a holistic sustainability roadmap and strategy and performing a baseline assessment to identify opportunities of improvement in sustainability performance. She started her career in a boutique sustainability consultancy firm focusing on plastic waste advisory and has experience working with private companies and governmental agencies, such as the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy in Qatar, to promote the management of plastic waste in their operations and supply chain.

Kaia holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Environmental Earth Systems Science, specializing in ecology, from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Before stepping into her role as an Associate, Verena began her journey at BSR as an intern and student assistant of the climate and nature teams.

Verena’s expertise lies within interdisciplinary project work, climate and sustainability research, analysis and assessments encompassing greenhouse gas accounting, scenario development and transition strategies.

Verena holds a MSc in Climate Change from the University of Copenhagen and a BSc in Environmental Science and Business Economics from the Leuphana University Lüneburg. She speaks German, English and Danish.

Sophie works with BSR member companies across industries on sustainability management, including stakeholder engagement, materiality, strategy, and reporting, among other topics. She is part of BSR’s Future of Reporting collaboration, a group of companies sharing reporting best practices and tracking the regulatory landscape in the US and EU.

Sophie brings years of operational expertise as an in-house sustainability management specialist across diverse industries such as hospitality, corporate services, logistics, manufacturing, etc. She also has experience in managing CSR foundations and engaging with NGOs and NPOs. Prior to that, she worked for EcoVadis, focusing on the analysis and sustainability scoring of supply chains.

Sophie holds a BSc in Anthropology and Environmental Management and an MSc in Environmental Science from The University of Western Australia. She is also an accredited Climate Fresk Facilitator.
