AI is rapidly reshaping industries, competitive dynamics, and long-term value creation. For investors, it presents both opportunities for financial upside as well as a new set of financial, legal, operational, reputational, and system-level risks, with implications for investment strategy, due diligence, portfolio oversight, engagement, and exit.

Yet investors face a fragmented and fast-evolving landscape of AI-related frameworks, standards, and initiatives, with limited practical guidance on how to identify the most decision-useful issues, assess company practice, and integrate these considerations into investment processes.

The Investor Working Group on Responsible AI is designed to help investors:

  • Build practical understanding of AI-related risks and opportunities;
  • Exchange emerging approaches and lessons learned;
  • Strengthen their ability to evaluate and oversee responsible AI issues across portfolios;
  • Access guidance on key impacts/risks.

The Working Group is designed to be:

  • Tailored to mainstream financial services firms, including asset managers, private capital investors, and investment banks;
  • Grounded in real-world application, practical examples, and case-based discussion;
  • Focused on key issues and industries, to be selected in consultation with participants.

Format

This Working Group will convene virtually on a bi-monthly basis for twelve months. After each session, BSR will produce a short, practical summary for participants, including key risks, opportunities, and investor considerations, questions for diligence and portfolio engagement, emerging practices, and additional resources/references. All convenings will be held under Chatham House Rule and in full compliance with all antitrust laws.

Membership Engagement Options (MEOs) may be applied as a credit towards the participation fee for this opportunity.

A $2,000 USD discount is available for those who participate in two AI collaborations; a $5,000 discount is available for those who participate in three collaborations.
