Faraz Ansari

Preview

Faraz works with BSR’s technology member companies to prevent, manage, and report on human rights impacts across their value chains. He supports companies in conducting human rights due diligence to understand supply chain impacts, downstream end-user risks, and requirements under regulatory regimes such as the EU Digital Services Act and the UK Online Safety Act. Faraz has particular expertise in supporting social media platforms to operationalize rights-respecting approaches to content moderation.​

Prior to BSR, Faraz worked on digital rights campaigns as an Advocacy Fellow at Access Now. Previously, he worked at the Center for Strategic and International Studies’ Human Rights Initiative, where he researched business, human rights, and technology.​

Faraz holds an MA from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in International Law, Economic Policy, and South Asia Studies, and a BA from The Ohio State University in International Relations and Economics.

Hugh W. Brown, Jr.

Preview

Hugh Brown is the Global Head of BSR’s Financial Services practice and Head of BSR membership for the Americas, leading advisory services with private equity, banks, and multinational corporations on corporate strategy, sustainability, and long-term value creation. A member of BSR’s leadership team, Hugh strengthens executive partnerships and deepens engagement with C-suite leaders and boards through economic value creation while advancing market expansion initiatives across regions.

Hugh has 20 years of investment management experience and has worked with companies on portfolio strategy, corporate governance, operations, consumer experience, product development, and marketing using a core risk mitigation lens to drive business value. Prior to BSR, he was a senior director at Ceres, where he led portfolio value creation strategies with global institutional investors representing over $20 trillion in assets under management, shaping investor strategies on portfolio resilience and natural capital. Earlier in his career, he worked on the buy side at the $250 billion Florida State Board of Administration pension fund and Morgan Stanley, focusing on corporate governance in public companies, investment strategy, risk management, and liquidity.

Hugh is a U.S. Air Force veteran, former technology startup founder, private company and non-profit board member, and holds an MBA from Nova Southeastern University and a BA from Florida State University.

Julie Dugard

Preview

Julie serves as Manager of BSR’s Climate team, where she brings over 10 years of experience in corporate sustainability and climate action and supports BSR members with their climate strategies.

After joining BSR in 2021, Julie worked on multiple projects helping companies implementing TCFD recommendations, conducting climate scenario analysis (for the tech, financial and insurance industry), accelerating Net Zero transition, implementing just transition approaches (extractive industry) and scope 3 strategies (consumer goods sector). Since 2023, Julie manages BSR grant-funded work dedicated to Climate Transition Plans.

Julie is also co-developing BSR’s work on alternative business models addressing the tension between business growth and sustainability targets.

Prior to joining BSR, Julie worked in Mazars’s sustainability services and risk practice, where she audited and advised companies on their ESG data and internal audit, control and risk approaches. During her time within Mazars, Julie also spent six months at the Mexico City office.

Julie holds a master’s degree in business from Kedge Business School and spent one semester at the University of Nottingham and another one at the University of Technology of Sydney. She speaks French, English, and Spanish.

Kayla Winarsky McKenzie

Preview

Kayla collaborates with BSR member companies on projects centering on the corporate responsibility to respect human rights, focusing on companies within the consumer sectors industry cluster. Her areas of expertise include energy transition, anti-corruption, and gender.

Prior to joining BSR, Kayla spent several years advising multinational companies and investors on human rights as an Adviser at the Danish Institute for Human Rights, during which she also served as a Lecturer in Law at the University of Amsterdam, focusing on Business and Human Rights (BHR), international human rights, anti-corruption, and EU law. Previously, she worked on global anti-corruption investigations and cross-border white collar litigations as an Associate Attorney at the international law firm King & Spalding LLP, where she was the founding member of the firm's BHR initiative.

Kayla holds a JD and a Certificate in Global Human Rights from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, which included course work at the Institut de hautes études internationales et du développement, and a BA, Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude from Tulane University.

Kindra Mohr

Preview

Bringing her expertise as a business and human rights attorney, Kindra leads BSR's work at the intersection of finance and human rights. 

Kindra has nearly 15 years of experience in advancing human rights, social and environmental sustainability, and access to remedy within the financial sector. She advises financial institutions and their corporate clients and investees on innovative solutions to prevent and address human rights risks and impacts on the ground, including through stakeholder engagement and the development of grievance mechanisms. 

Previously, Kindra consulted for the International Finance Corporation and worked with clients at PwC to integrate best practices into their corporate governance frameworks. She also worked for the US Senate and served for five years as the Policy Director for a global nonprofit, advocating with communities for environmental and social protections and access to remedy in international finance. In addition, Kindra has lived and worked for nonprofits in Argentina, Haiti, and Peru on access to justice and corporate accountability.    

Kindra obtained her law degree at Boston College and holds a MA in International Economics and International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Christophe Marine

Preview

As part of BSR’s information technology (IT) department, Christophe assists the Global IT Lead with team operations and supports projects in BSR’s European and Asian offices. He works on system administration, system development, process improvement, and IT support.

Prior to joining BSR, Christophe was the IT account manager of several US industrial automation and liquor companies.

Christophe holds a BTEC Higher National Diploma in IT. He speaks French and English.

Emma Giloth

Preview

Emma Giloth leads BSR's Living Wage practice. She works at the intersection of human rights; food, beverage, and agriculture; consumer marketing; and ethical supply chains.

Emma leads human rights impact and risk assessments, and guides companies on supply chain due diligence and responsible purchasing practices. As lead on BSR's Living Wage practice, she supports companies to activate and manage their Living Wage programs for their owned operations and to build strategies to ensure workers across their supply chains are paid sufficiently.

Prior to BSR, Emma worked in the consumer-packaged goods industry, where she specialized in ethical sourcing of climate-smart ingredients from farmers. A social entrepreneur at heart, she previously co-founded a sustainable natural products brand in Senegal, and continues to work as an advisor to several African brands.

Raluca Bumboiu

Preview

Raluca works with BSR member companies across various industries on sustainability management projects, with a focus on the financial services industry. She also supports the Healthcare Working Group collaborative initiative.

Prior to joining BSR, Raluca was a Production Manager at Vigeo Eiris (part of Moody’s ESG Solutions), a socially responsible investment rating agency. She focused on evaluating the positive contribution of public companies’ commercial activities to sustainable development. 

Raluca holds a MA in Environmental Policy from Sciences Po Paris and a BA in International Relations from the University of Bucharest. She speaks English, Romanian, and French.

Ameer Azim

Preview

Ameer leads BSR’s climate work in the US and works closely with BSR’s Technology sector companies.

Ameer helps BSR members develop strategies to implement the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and enhance business resilience through climate risk assessment using climate scenario analysis and planning. He also works with BSR member companies on developing resilient and sustainable value chains.

Ameer was previously working with BSR’s Financial Services sector companies and led the Business Alliance to Scale Climate Solutions, a BSR carbon markets collaborative initiative now known as the Beyond Alliance.

Prior to joining BSR, Ameer was the chief financial economist at Climate Advisers Trust and Orbitas, where he conducted research on climate scenario analysis and financial research for the agriculture, forestry, and other land use (AFOLU) sector and engaged institutional investors on deforestation risks in investment portfolios. Ameer also brings over a decade of capital markets experience at financial institutions like ABN Amro, Citi, and Barclays Bank.

Ameer holds a MS in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and a BA in Economics and Government from College of William and Mary

Ariela Levy

Preview

Ariela works with BSR member companies across various industries on sustainability management, with a focus on climate change and human rights.

Prior to joining BSR, Ariela was an Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps fellow with Sustainable Jersey, where she helped New Jersey municipalities implement energy efficiency projects. Previously, she worked as a consultant with Amnesty International, where she helped develop the organization’s platform on tear gas. Ariela was also a research assistant for the Mexican Ministry of Health, where she researched the impacts of changing climactic conditions on dengue. Ariela’s experiences focus on the intersection of climate change, human rights, and health.

Ariela holds an MPA from Columbia University in Environmental Science and Policy as well as a B.S. in Society and Environment and B.A. in Public Health from UC Berkeley. She is a native Spanish speaker and is proficient in French.
