Jenny Vaughan

Preview

Jenny leads BSR’s human rights team and portfolio across consulting and collaboration. In addition to directing BSR’s Human Rights Working Group, Jenny leads human rights assessments and partners with companies to develop human rights strategies and stakeholder engagement plans. She works across industries with a focus on energy, technology, and conflict-affected and high-risk contexts.

Prior to joining BSR, Jenny worked at Mercy Corps for over a decade in field management and advisory roles to prevent and mitigate conflict, promote inclusive economic development, and build civil society capacity. As the organization’s first Peace and Governance Director in Myanmar and later as the Director of the Peace and Conflict technical advisory team, she designed and implemented programs to reduce violence, promote peace and development, and address critical and emerging threats like climate change, disruptive technology, and poor governance. She has experience in context analysis, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, project design and implementation, and strategic planning. Jenny has lived and worked in countries including Myanmar, Indonesia, Nepal, Israel/Occupied Palestinian Territories, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Central African Republic, and Cameroon. 

Jenny holds a MA in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a BA in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Nina Hatch

Preview

Nina works with BSR member companies across industries on business transformation projects, such as double materiality, business strategy, and goal setting. She has expertise in stakeholder engagement and integrating sustainability across the value chain. Additionally, Nina works with members on climate topics, including climate scenarios, climate risk, TCFD, climate transition plans, and net zero decarbonization. 

Nina joined BSR in 2019 and has worked across all industries, with a specific focus on working with energy and industrials companies. 

Prior to joining BSR, Nina worked with a mission-driven consumer products company that makes menstrual products for women. There, she helped to create a long-term strategy to establish its leadership in sustainability, social impact, and health. In her early career, Nina worked at an environmental health advocacy firm in Maine and collaborated with industry leaders to remove harmful chemicals from food products. She also worked at a landscape architecture firm, promoting climate resilience through parks in New York City.

Nina holds a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment, a Master of Public Health in Environmental Health Sciences from the Yale School of Public Health, and a BA in Environmental Policy from Colby College.

Jonathan Drimmer

Jonathan Drimmer is a partner in Steptoe's Washington, D.C. office, where he resolves complex cross-border challenges with the benefit of having sat in every chair at the table: senior legal officer for a Global 500 company, federal prosecutor, and seasoned advocate.

He is ranked Band 1 by Chambers Global for business and human rights law and is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading authorities in the field. For more than two decades, he has advised and represented a wide range of companies and individuals on anti-corruption matters. His practice spans the full life cycle for both topics, including developing compliance programs, conducting investigations, and representing clients in enforcement proceedings and disputes.

Over the span of 30 years, Jonathan has directed hundreds of investigations worldwide, encompassing a vast span of geographies and substantive issues. He has represented companies and individuals in high-profile civil and criminal proceedings related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other anti-bribery laws, the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFPLA), the U.S. Tariff Act and other laws banning forced labor imports, the Trafficking Victims Protections Reauthorization Act (TVPRA) and other anti-trafficking laws, the Alien Tort Statute, and similar matters. Jonathan has handled class actions in the U.S., Canada, and abroad, dealing with transnational torts, environmental cases, land controversies, and a variety of other similar areas. He has repeatedly represented companies and witnesses in congressional and parliamentary hearings related to human rights and anti-corruption issues.

Jonathan also has wide-ranging experience in helping companies manage multi-faceted dilemmas in overseas activities, developing and managing solutions that may encompass civil, criminal, regulatory, and political dimensions. He has designed a variety of human rights remedy programs and is particularly experienced in representing companies in non-judicial and quasi-judicial legal proceedings involving human rights and transnational torts. Jonathan also has significant experience in assisting companies in developing best-in-class anti-corruption and human rights compliance programs, which include policies and procedures, training, due diligence, governance and all other program components.

He is a member of the U.S. Federal Advisory Committee for Responsible Business Conduct, a senior advisor at BSR, the North American advisor to the Global Business Initiative on Business and Human Rights, and a strategic advisor to the secretariat for the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights. Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades and recognitions, including recognition as a Regulatory and Compliance Trailblazer and one of the 100 most influential in-house counsel in the U.S. and Canada.

Nine Weijenborg

Nine leads BSR’s double materiality practice, working closely with companies to translate regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations into clear, decision-useful outcomes.

She supports organizations across sectors on sustainability strategy development, including goal-setting, governance, and integration into core business processes, with a particular focus on financial services. Her work helps companies prioritize the most significant sustainability risks and opportunities and connect strategy, reporting, and implementation in a practical and credible way.

Prior to joining BSR, Nine worked in PwC’s sustainability services practice, advising multinational companies on sustainability strategies and performance. Her experience includes supporting organizations in integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into business strategy, as well as auditing social and environmental data. Nine is a One Young World ambassador and brings a strong analytical and collaborative approach to advancing impactful and accountable sustainability practices.

Nine holds an M.Sc. in Food Safety Law from Wageningen University and an L.L.M. in Law from the University of Amsterdam. She wrote her master’s thesis at the University of Cape Town, focusing on food innovations for local farmers.

Maria Bennici

Maria provides digital communications, email marketing, content, and event support to BSR.

She produces online content, including blogs, reports, and eblasts, and manages our marketing tools. She also executes events and provides support to communications in the EMEA region.

Prior to joining BSR, Maria worked at AUSY, a French engineering consulting company, for two years as its international communications coordinator. She also previously worked at UNESCO.

Maria received a BA in Foreign Affairs and French Language and Literature from the University of Virginia and an MA in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po Paris.

Adam Fishman

Preview

Adam works with BSR member companies across industries on sustainability management, including stakeholder engagement, materiality, strategy and reporting, among other topics.

Prior to BSR, Adam was a thematic expert on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the International Institute for Sustainable Development, focusing on the linkages between climate, development, business, and sustainable consumption and production. He previously worked on the SDGs team at World Resources Institute. During his graduate studies, Adam interned at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and was a Coca-Cola World Fund fellow with Conservation International, researching the strategic connections between the SDGs and corporate sustainability.

Adam holds a Master’s in Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment, specializing in Business and the Environment. He has a BA in Environmental Studies and Government, with a concentration in International Politics, from Wesleyan University.

Isadora Loreto

Preview

Isadora leads the RISE Respect - Tackling Gender Based Violence and Harassment program, which focuses on preventing and remediating gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH) in the garment industry.

Isadora was a manager at HERproject, where she led the HERrespect pillar globally and HERproject operations in Bangladesh, Cambodia, and India. She was originally based in BSR’s Hong Kong office when she started at HERproject in 2018. Prior to joining BSR, Isadora worked at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP)’s Bangkok office, where she was part of the gender and social inclusion division. In this role, she focused on gender equality and women’s empowerment policies in the Asia-Pacific region.

Isadora holds a Master’s Degree in International Law and Economics, with a focus on International Development and Humanitarian Action, from the Institut d'Etudes Humanitaires - Université Paul Cézanne Aix Marseille III. She is a native French speaker and is fluent in English and Spanish.

Laura Hansson

Laura supports BSR’s Business Transformation work across industries. She has also worked on several of BSR’s multistakeholder collaborations, including the Global Impact Sourcing Coalition and Maritime Anti-Corruption Network.

Prior to joining BSR, Laura was the director of the Copenhagen branch of a global social impact consultancy advising startup companies and social enterprises on fundraising and communications strategies as well as social impact creation and measurement. She also held an internship position at a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the rights of women journalists. Laura speaks German, English, and Spanish.

Laura holds an M.Sc. in Business and Development Studies with a Minor in Sustainable Business and Entrepreneurship and a B.Sc. in Business, Language, and Culture, both from Copenhagen Business School.

Alexander Wood

Preview

Alexander manages BSR’s IT infrastructure, primarily focusing on technology advancement projects to increase both efficiency and security throughout all of our systems.

He also works directly with technology vendors to ensure our staff requests are serviced quickly and efficiently.

Prior to joining BSR, Alexander worked in multiple technology and operations roles, including service desk, IT engineering, and learning and development. He was also a small business owner and operations lead. His career in technology started in 2010 in the private banking sector, where his passion for security compliance and automation sparked.

Alexander holds a B.A in Media Arts and Animation from the Art Institute of California, San Francisco.

Ella Moffat

Ella manages RISE's Financial Health program in global supply chains, working closely with partners Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, The Walt Disney Company, and GIZ. RISE Financial Health supports low-income workers, especially women, to access, use, and benefit from their payroll accounts and build their financial capability in order to increase their financial health and economic empowerment, while also increasing efficiency and transparency in global supply chains.

Before joining BSR, Ella was partnership manager on CARE International UK’s private-sector engagement team, working closely with companies including Barclays, Mondelez International, and GSK to develop mutually beneficial partnerships and deliver business and social impact, with a focus on women’s economic empowerment and financial inclusion. Ella also spent three years as a VSO fundraising advisor in India working for grassroots disability and rural development organizations. 

Ella holds a Master’s in Development Studies from Birkbeck, University of London.
