The launch of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Net Zero standard at COP26 marked a significant milestone towards robust, science-based business action. It generated significant attention, and businesses are increasingly aligning their net zero commitments to SBTi’s requirements.

As the first science-based, third party certified net zero standard for business, its key pillars are a relevant framework for business to align its efforts to the changes required to implement robust net-zero plans, and kickstart the business transformation required to achieve net zero.

We invite BSR members to join us in a conversation with the SBTi net zero team. We will introduce the key concepts of their net zero framework, discuss what next steps businesses should expect in 2022, and engage in a Q&A session to navigate the standard.

This is the first of two sessions. We will use the second session, later in Q1 2022, to deep dive into specific areas of the SBTi guidance.
