Artificial Intelligence (AI) is going to fundamentally change the way we work and live as algorithms are used more frequently to inform and make important decisions. Like many new technologies, AI is the source of tremendous opportunities to support the public good, but also brings risks and new challenges. How do we build ethical, moral, and human values into the future of AI? What governance mechanisms must be in place to minimize AI’s potential harm and maximize its benefits?
This session will:
- Summarize the main stakeholders working on issues of human rights and AI.
- Consider how companies can apply the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in the context of AI.
- Describe some of the main human rights risks and opportunities companies face both inside and outside the technology industry.
Guest speakers from NEC will share leading practices for “Human Rights by Design.”
and from Fujitsu will share activities for Human Rights and “Explainable AI”.
