Lindsey works with companies across industries to responsibly develop and deploy technology in line with international standards, regulations, and emerging best practice. She focuses primarily on risks to people in the fields of Responsible AI and online trust and safety. She leads BSR’s Responsible AI Working Group and has particular experience building out Responsible AI governance approaches, especially risk assessment processes.
She also has extensive experience in developing responsible sales processes, designing and conducting human rights assessments, conducting in-depth research exploring implications of emerging technology, and integrating human rights-based approaches into responsible technology development and deployment.
Prior to joining BSR, Lindsey worked with digital rights organization, Access Now, to drive the then burgeoning conversation on the human rights implications of AI. As part of this, she wrote the foundational report Human Rights in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. Lindsey previously worked at Internews, implementing a large portfolio of digital rights projects across Latin America, which focused on equipping journalists and human rights defenders with digital security and policy advocacy skills. Lindsey has worked and lived across Latin America and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
Lindsey holds a Master’s in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University and a BA in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
