Information and Communications Technology

The growing use of information and communications technology (ICT) creates opportunities for solving some of the world’s toughest environmental and social challenges.

Information and Communications Technology Overview

How We Work

ICT is about communication and collaboration, and BSR played a leading role in the foundation of two of the world’s most influential groups addressing the environmental and social impacts of ICT: the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and the Global Network Initiative (GNI).

Our team brings many years’ worth of experience consulting on sustainability with companies across the ICT industry, from telecoms to software and internet companies to consumer electronics. As a result, BSR is well placed to help ICT companies integrate environmental sustainability and social responsibility into their business strategies, operations, and supply chain.

Our Focus

  • Human rights
  • ICT as a sustainability solution
  • Privacy and freedom of expression
  • Strategy, integration, and reporting
  • Supply chain sustainability
  • Renewable energy procurement
