  Beatriz is part of the nature and climate change teams, aiming at strengthening and developing BSR’s nature offering as well as tapping into the interconnectedness between these two areas and crafting solutions that uplift members’ climate and nature commitments and their overall impact.

  Prior to joining BSR, Beatriz was the Consulting Director and Board Member at the Paris branch of a global social impact student consultancy, where she managed a range of missions, especially within the education, consumer, and financial sectors. She also worked for over two years as a public sector consultant at EY Madrid, where she mostly assisted public bodies in project definition, strategy, and implementation under the European Regional Development Fund scheme, participating in a wide array of projects focusing on social inclusion, the circular economy, green mobility, and smart cities.  

  Beatriz holds a MS in Sustainability and Social Innovation from HEC Paris, a MS in Management Consulting from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, and a BSc in International Management and Modern Languages (IMML) from the University of Bath. She speaks Spanish, English, and French.

  With nearly 20 years of experience, Eileen works with multinational companies to address climate change. She specializes in improving business strategy to consider how climate change and its solutions affect society, the environment, and the economy. 

  Eileen directs BSR’s advisory and grant-funded work where climate intersects with human rights and equity, inclusion, and justice. She also supports companies with climate risk and scenario analysis, emissions reduction targets, and net-zero roadmaps. ​Eileen is BSR’s climate lead in the Asia-Pacific region, where she analyzed how climate change affects vulnerable nations, its people, and global supply chains. ​

  Prior to joining BSR in 2017, Eileen served as a sustainability consultant, supporting companies on sustainability strategy development, strategic stakeholder engagement, and environmental management. While working at a public policy organization, she gained experience in international development, climate policy analysis, and effective communications. ​

  Eileen holds a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut. ​

  Kaia works with BSR member companies across industries on sustainability management, with a focus on climate change, supply chain sustainability, and consumer sectors.

  Prior to joining BSR, Kaia supported the development of the innovation and sustainability department in an alternative protein start-up, where she focused on developing a holistic sustainability roadmap and strategy and performing a baseline assessment to identify opportunities of improvement in sustainability performance. She started her career in a boutique sustainability consultancy firm focusing on plastic waste advisory and has experience working with private companies and governmental agencies, such as the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy in Qatar, to promote the management of plastic waste in their operations and supply chain.

  Kaia holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Environmental Earth Systems Science, specializing in ecology, from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She is fluent in English and Mandarin.

The business imperative for climate adaptation has never been more urgent. Due to human-induced greenhouse gas emissions, extreme weather events—including droughts, cyclones, and heatwaves—are becoming more intense, and already fragile ecosystems are close to reaching critical tipping points. While business efforts to decarbonize remain essential, it is critical that companies recognize that reducing emissions alone will neither secure business continuity nor safeguard the communities and ecosystems vital for business success. To build true resilience, organizations need to consider climate adaptation alongside mitigation strategies and integrate it into strategic decision-making, treating climate, nature, and people as interconnected systems.

BSR’s latest report, Applying a Systems-Based Approach to Move from Climate Risk to Resilience, responds to this growing need. The report builds on several years of BSR research and engagement with companies, investors, and policymakers to help bridge persistent gaps in the adaptation and resilience landscape.

Through a six-step, systems-based approach, it provides practical, actionable guidance for organizations to move from identifying climate risks to designing and evaluating adaptation solutions that respond to local community and ecosystem needs, respect human rights, and are aligned with long-term resilience goals. This guidance supports risk and sustainability teams within the private sector in assessing the potential co-benefits of adaptation solutions and minimizing unintended trade-offs between other climate mitigation efforts, nature, and people. 

The report also provides recommendations for organizations at various stages of their adaptation journey on how they can leverage and complement this guidance with other existing and relevant frameworks and resources. With BSR’s framework, companies will be able to lay the groundwork for a growing and evolving systems-based approach to resilience.
