With the recent drive for Ethiopia to become a more prominent player in the global apparel industry, stakeholders agree on the importance of embedding responsible and sustainable business conduct from the beginning. In the coming year, thousands of jobs in apparel factories will be filled by women—many of them joining the formal workforce for the first time. 

Join BSR’s HERproject team and The Children’s Place for a roundtable dialogue that will explore how to create an enabling and high-performing work environment through gender equality. This roundtable will invite representatives from suppliers, buyers, government, donors, and civil society to discuss practical examples and approaches to building a supportive work environment in apparel factories, with a focus on worker welfare and gender equality.
