#Human Rights

Slavery is illegal in almost every country on earth. Yet modern slavery, in all its various forms, is tragically widespread.

The U.K. Modern Slavery Act and other new laws require companies to disclose actions taken to eradicate modern slavery. It is no longer enough to respond reactively or only to isolated reports. Businesses have an obligation to ensure that their entire value chains are slave-free and to empower their business partners to do so as well.

What’s less clear, however, is how businesses can eradicate modern slavery in meaningful ways. The scale and complexity of the problem is too large for individual companies to tackle alone.

Join us for a webinar with the cofounders of the Global Business Coalition Against Trafficking, a network of businesses established in 2010 that develops solutions for companies working on modern slavery. Panelists will discuss their evolving vision for a slave-free world and how companies play a critical role in solving the problem.

Speakers

  • Dawn Conway, President, Boost Technology, LLC
  • Mark Lagon, Former U.S. Ambassador-at-Large to Combat Trafficking
  • Eric-Paul Schat, Senior Director of Sustainability, Environment, Health, and Safety, NXP Semiconductors; winner of the 2016 Thomson Reuters Foundation Stop Slavery Award
  • Brent Wilton, Director of Global Workplace Rights, The Coca-Cola Company
  • Peter Nestor, Director, BSR
