Job Description

The Corporate Responsibility (CR) team’s mission is to support PVH’s brands, regions and functions, to drive Fashion Forward for good. We aim to embed sustainable business into PVH’s DNA – including strategy and visioning, culture, and business operations.

The Manager will focus on advancing PVH’s strategic objectives to meet PVH’s environmental targets and position PVH to deliver sustainable product to our customers. This will include developing sustainable material roadmap to meet PVH’s Forward Fashion Regenerate Materials target, animal welfare policy and external commitments, building cross-functional relationships to integrate environmental sustainability initiatives into business practices, supporting brand CR teams on sustainable on-product communications and managing related data and reporting requirements.

The successful candidate will exhibit excellent communication and project management skills, strong analytic capabilities, effective problem solving, and the ability to foster partnerships. Direct experience in sustainable material certifications, apparel supply chains and business operations is strongly preferred.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Drive progress against PVH’s Forward Fashion Targets and external commitments for Sustainable Materials and Animal Welfare
  • Support the Senior Director of Sustainable and Circular Product to establish a clear sustainable material strategy and roadmaps to achieve PVH’s Forward Fashion strategy including cotton, polyester, wool, and viscose. This includes establishing clear global strategy and partnering with Brands/Regions and Supply to operationalize the roadmaps to achieving our targets.
    • Establish strategic approach to PVH target achievement by leveraging external markets, evolving issues (e.g. biobased polyester, regenerative agriculture) and brand/region roadmaps to deliver sustainable product to consumers at scale
    • Partner with supply to test new materials and procurement strategies (direct farmer engagement) to meet brand needs
    • Develop executive materials to communicate strategy, progress to date and recommended strategy updates
  • Manage PVH’s Global Animal Welfare policy and Forest Protection Policy
  • Advise, equip and train associates to incorporate sustainable materials into their product development life cycle including on-product communications
  • Partner with brand CR teams and legal to create materials to educate internal teams, streamline processes across global brands, and facilitate forums for cross-divisional sharing of best practices including:
    • Managing the development and operationalization of PVH’s Global Sustainable Product Guidelines and Claims SOP and train associates on sustainable product definition, required certifications, and claims processes
  • Advise on sustainability attributes of current and new materials and fibers including:
    • Advise on global harmonization of on-product marketing claims and requirements
    • Review innovative materials or processing claims from a corporate responsibility lens to ensure we are not greenwashing when making claims
    • Advise on life cycle assessment impacts of materials including greenhouse gas emissions and water impact to support internal teams to make more sustainable decisions
  • Facilitate global forums focused on sustainable fiber adoption
  • Manage partnerships with key multi-stakeholder initiatives such as Textile Exchange, Canopy, and Better Cotton Initiative to inform PVH strategy and advocate externally
  • Evaluate our current programs and benchmark industry best practices to help inform go-forward opportunities to establish cutting edge
  • Represent PVH in external forums to drive industry alignment
  • Support reviews of proposed legislation based on current programs
  • Manage and report progress towards external commitments
  • Manage data collection for reporting and baselining of key performance indicators related to material consumption annually
  • Support the data analysis and writing to communicate program developments and achievements through various reporting mechanisms, such as the annual PVH CR report, Sustainable Apparel Coalition’s Brand and Retail, Textile Exchange, Fashion Pact, and other key industry surveys
  • Work closely with cross-functional leaders and external consultants to systemize and streamline PVH’s Material Map and identify opportunities to leverage internal data to reduce reporting needs
  • Work with the CR Systems team as a subject matter expert to advise on internal system updates to automate reporting and embed sustainability into our IT infrastructure

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience: At least 5 years relevant experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required

  • Business acumen to partner with all brands, commercial regions, and corporate functions
  • Strong problem solving abilities with a solutions oriented mindset
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically to deliver results
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to explain complex data and content in a clear and impactful way with target audiences in mind
  • Proficient in using MS Excel to combine and analyze data from various sources, and generate reports and graphics
  • Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of the apparel industry, sustainable materials, product development or supply chain preferred
  • Experience with sustainable material chain of custody certifications or innovations preferred
