Job Description

The Supply Chain Responsibility program is responsible for developing and implementing HPE’s policies and programs for raising labor, health & safety, environmental and ethics standards of HPE’s suppliers and their factories. As a member of the team, the individual in this position will contribute to programs which drive world class ethical sourcing performance in HPE’s supply chain. These programs may be focused on addressing specific, persistent issues and/or implementing structural changes to the auditing and continuous improvement process. This individual will also be responsible for promoting and maintaining healthy and productive internal and external stakeholder relationships to further program objectives.

The position combines developing specific content knowledge with strategic and tactical program leadership, requiring collaboration and management by‐influence.The program manager will be a member of the Global Social and Environmental Responsibility (Global SER) team within the Ethics and Compliance Office, which is housed in the Office of the General Counsel (OGC).

Responsibilities may include:

  • Maintaining HPE’s global policies and standards for human rights and supply chain responsibility (SCR).
  • Coordinating with SCR colleagues to develop and implement effective supplier monitoring and training programs for labor, health and safety issues.
  • Collaborating with industry groups and non‐profit organizations on industry initiatives and programs, as appropriate.
  • Tracking legislation and market access requirements related to human rights and supply chain labor conditions, and helping to ensure compliance with FAR requirements and disclosure obligations under the UK Modern Slavery Act and the California Supply Chains Transparency Act.
  • Leading and managing cross functional, cross regional programs to examine and improve supplier performance against program expectations.
  • Organizing the activities of data management personnel in support of program objectives ‐
  • Engaging with business unit and other team representatives to build appropriate team structure, sponsorship, approval channels and other program aspects.
  • Developing and reporting program progress and recommendations to drive program progress.
  • Representing HPE’s leading program and perspectives in industry consortia and workgroups and external conferences and workshops.
  • Contributing to the overall Supply Chain Responsibility program strategy, roadmap, implementation and communication plan.

Education and Experience Required

  • First level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
  • At least six to ten years relevant business experience (or equivalent combination of advanced degree and business experience)

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and high‐level modeling tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.–
  • Excellent team and project management skills, including project structuring.
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of emerging human rights and/or SCR trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and generate new and innovative solutions to complex problems.

Desired Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in the broader domain of sustainability, corporate social responsibility or social and environmental responsibility, including experience with policies, standards and assurance.
  • Industry expert in two or more supply chain responsibility standards and assurance domains: labor, health & safety, environment and ethics.
  • Experience in supplier management or other supply chain operations function
  • An advanced degree preferably in sustainability related field, business, corporate responsibility and/or public policy
  • Experience in the electronics sector
