Southeast Asia Regional Manager, Responsible Sourcing

The Children’s Place is looking for a regional Responsible Sourcing Manager to oversee the Southeast Asia region (Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand). This role is part of the Responsible Sourcing department, a global team of dedicated professionals who seek to protect and enhance The Children’s Place by improving the lives of the people who produce our product.

Purpose and Objective of Position:

To anticipate and plan for geo-political, social and environmental risks related to apparel sourcing in Southeast Asia. To develop/establish appropriate compliance programs, policies and/or procedures to support vendors and factories on all compliance related issues with due regard to applicable legal and regulatory requirements, TCP standards and code of conduct. To conduct factory social compliance audits and related assessments. To support factories in remediation and corrective action related to social compliance and safety assessments. To support improvement programs in which factories engage with service providers. To facilitate implementation of community service and factory training programs, and to ensure factories demonstrate compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, TCP standards and Vendor Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities:

  • Executes on-the-ground factory monitoring program, including auditing, training, remediation follow-up. Includes visiting factories producing for TCP on a regular and ongoing basis.
  • Represent TCP in working groups and meetings with Better Work programs
  • Identify and analyze responsible sourcing trends and best practices in Southeast Asia countries
  • Escalate potential crisis situations to management, as appropriate
  • Represent TCP and its interests in multi-stakeholder groups, with government officials and with NGOs, as directed by Management
  • Critically review and analyze audit reports received from third party audit firms and internal auditors
  • Develop and deliver training opportunities that increase internal and external awareness and promotion of strong compliance
  • Identify regional and country based benchmarks
  • Educate vendors and factories in all aspects of responsible sourcing
  • Identify local resources to aid suppliers in strengthening Social Compliance management systems
  • Institute processes and controls to effectively communicate key Responsible Sourcing information to Sourcing and Merchandising teams, as appropriate
  • Effectively monitor applicable laws regarding labor and working conditions in key sourcing markets and analyze impacts of current and potential legislation on TCP Sourcing strategy
  • Manage third-party Social Compliance audit providers, as needed
  • Manage team of Responsible Sourcing Specialists and Administrator
  • Ensure successful implementation of worker empowerment programs such as HERproject and TCP’s partnership with CARE in Cambodia
  • Plus any other requirements as directed by Management

Minimum Education Level:

  • College degree
  • Advance degree preferred

Minimum Experience

  • 7 years or above relevant experience in possess Social Compliance auditing for apparel manufacturing facilities
  • 2+ years general management / leadership experience
  • Possess knowledge of international labor standards and human rights issues are preferred
  • Fluent in English and Vietnamese or Khmer, as relevant
