The Sr. Manager for Sustainable Sourcing reports to the Director for Sustainable Sourcing and is responsible for further development and implementation of PepsiCo’s Sustainable Sourcing and People Performance with Purpose goals working specifically to advance our sustainable sourcing strategies within our agricultural supply chains with specific emphasis on human rights, environment, and food loss and waste reduction. This position requires strong collaboration and coordination across a variety of functions inside PepsiCo including Global Procurement, Public Policy & Government Affairs, and Global Operations – as well as engagement with relevant external forums, stakeholders, and strategic supplier partners.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Enhancing and implementing sustainable sourcing strategies for key commodities critical to our food and beverage businesses
  • Supporting expansion of sustainable sourcing and human rights programs within PepsiCo’s agricultural supply chain
  • Supporting PepsiCo’s supplier facility-based Sustainable Sourcing Program to support our Performance with Purpose People Goals
  • Advancing Global Food Loss and Waste strategy development and implementation, working closely with our agriculture teams to support ongoing innovation and reduction

Qualifications/Requirements

Education & Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Business, Food Science, Engineering or related area
  • Master’s degree - Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or MBA preferred
  • 7-10+ years’ experience in related fields including sustainability, ethical sourcing, sustainable sourcing, and procurement roles, farm experience encouraged

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Broad understanding and passion for sustainability, sustainable sourcing, and agriculture
  • Experience working in farming communities or with farmers
  • Intellectual curiosity – awareness of emerging trends and competitive activity within sustainability landscape
  • Communicates effectively and collaborates across functions
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management techniques within agricultural commodities
  • Ability to lead and manage complex projects
  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functionally internally and externally across global stakeholder groups; bringing others along the journey and influencing decisions without direct or structural authority
  • Cultural sensitivity – understanding of and ability to communicate across a number of different cultures
  • Strong project management skills - ability to handle multiple projects at a time, set priorities and plan deliverables accordingly
  • Experience working with NGOs and external stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively communicate (spoken and written), fluent in English, foreign language skills a plus

  • Willingness to travel 30% of the time
