Overall Purpose: Responsible for helping develop AT&T’s annual global ESG (Environmental, Social, Corporate Governance) reporting, including our annual corporate responsibility summary/report, material topic-level issue briefs and other supporting materials. This role helps advance the reputation of AT&T’s corporate responsibility initiatives, including philanthropy, education, community engagement and other environmental or social sustainability programs – generally called Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. Reports to the Director – Global CSR Reporting & Insights.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with business unit peers and external stakeholders to collect and report hundreds of data points annually.
  • Review and gather approvals (business unit, legal etc.) for communications materials to ensure accuracy and clarity, and maximize external disclosure.
  • Conduct benchmarking and national/global/market research on ESG (environmental, social, corporate governance) reporting to identify and monitor trends and identify best practices. Work to continuously streamline external reporting processes and increase efficiency.
  • Research internal and external opportunities and risks and develop strategic plans to increase internal and external awareness of CSR programs and optimize scoring on external ratings & rankings.
  • Engage with key internal stakeholders and develop formal relationships as needed with external stakeholders such as consultants, external experts, non-government organizations and investors to improve effectiveness of ESG reporting initiatives.
  • Work with communications teams to plan content for digital, social and earned media promotion of ESG reporting and external scoring results.
  • Work with external vendors (communications services, software, non-profits, and consultants) to utilize their services effectively.
  • Evaluate external initiatives for possible inclusion in future projects.
  • Effectively manage projects and execute strategic reporting initiatives by developing effective plans, timelines and budgets.
  • Identify metrics for project success.
  • Quantify impact and value to the business (confirm the value proposition in terms that are meaningful to the business).
  • Help develop executive presentation materials (presentations, communications plan, speaking notes, timelines, key messages).

For this reporting-centric role, applicant must demonstrate excellent project- and data-management skills, highly professional written and verbal communication skills (including at the officer level), and exceptional attention to detail. A strong sense of self-direction and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously is also critical. A minimum of 2+ years of direct reporting experience with major ESG reporting frameworks (such as GRI, IIRC, SASB, TCFD) and major rating/ranking organizations (such as CDP, DJSI) is preferred

  • Must have at least 2 years of direct reporting experience with major ESG reporting frameworks or rating/rankings.
