The Opportunity

We are looking for a Principal II Advisor - Communities & Social Performance (CSP) to provide necessary and specific advice in a Communities & Social Performance discipline and to support the Communities & Social Performance team with technical expertise, implementation and delivery of key initiatives, systems and training.

The role is based in Lima, Peru but the incumbent will have to travel on projects sites such as La Granja and Suyawi.

Working and reporting to the Regional Communities Manager, you will:

  • Provide advice and strategic planning to exploration teams on Communities and Social Performance
  • Lead CSP teams and Contributes to the development and maintenance of the Communities & Social Performance community and professional knowledge and expertise of team members, where appropriate.
  • Support Communities & Social Performance initiatives, liaising with senior leaders across both Communities & Social Performance and the Product Group or Business Unit; promotes best practice, and leverage innovative ideas.
  • Develop company policy and standards in the wider Communities & Social Performance team or Stakeholder Engagement function, leading on decisions related to communities.
  • Maintain a favourable relationship with the community and external stakeholders, particularly related to the area of technical expertise.

What you will need for this role

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • University degree or Master Degree preferable
  • Minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience
  • Languages: Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Previous experience in mining projects
  • Extensive previous Communities & Social experience
  • Experience in leading CSP Teams

Asset

  • Past experience working in mining projects in Peru will be highly regarded.
  • Past experience working in mining projects in Chile and/or Brazil.
  • Experience working on issues such as agreement-making, indigenous issues, local employment, and/or local procurement.
  • Fluency in Portuguese.
