As summer heats up in many places around the globe, BSR staff will be busy attending and hosting various CSR-related events.

Where BSR Will Be:

  • On July 5th, Jeremy Prepscius, BSR’s Asia Managing Director, and Nina Jatana, BSR’s Asia Communications Manager, will attend the EcoChic Design Award Hong Kong 2012 Grand Final, hosted by Redress.
  • A number of BSR staff members will attend the EICC Membership meeting in Boston from July 16-18 to present on governance solutions for the EICC, HERproject, and the UN Guiding Principles on Human Rights in the ICT Industry.
  • On July 25 at 3:00 p.m. (BST) / 10:00 a.m. (EDT), our Advisory Services Manager Cody Sisco will speak about the future of supply chain sustainability in a webinar with 2 Degrees.

What We’re Hosting:

  • On July 3 in Paris, BSR will host a breakfast workshop on stakeholder engagement and collaborative approaches with Antonio Manganella from CCFD Terre Solidaire
  • On July 9-10, the BSR CiYuan team will host a workshop for Chinese companies and NGOs on various topics of business sustainability. Min Bao, BSR’s Partnership Development Manager, will deliver the key trainings; Brooke Avory, CiYuan Project Manager, will manage the Q&A portions of the event.
  • On July 10 in Beijing, BSR is hosting a roundtable on sustainable agriculture in China. Kai Roberston, BSR’s Director of Food/Beverage/Agriculture, and Laura Ediger, BSR’s Environmental Manager, are speaking on global trends and challenges in sustainable agriculture supply chains, and how to partner with farm-based suppliers to implement sustainable practices.
  • The Clean Cargo Working Group will host a webinar on July 11 at 11:00 a.m. (EDT) / 5:00 p.m. (CEST) entitled "Driving Sustainability Goals through Transportation and Logistics."
  • The BSR Human Rights Working Group held its first webinar last month with an overview of the landscape of human rights standards and high-level strategy advice. We are now well into our first module on Employee Engagement and Training, with an in-person meeting scheduled in San Francisco on July 16 and 17.
  • The BSR Mills & Sundries Working Group will host its annual in-person meeting in Hong Kong on July 25. The Supplier Performance Tier grades will be released at this meeting, marking a major working group milestone.
