BSR is pleased to invite you to attend UNLOCKED: Tech and Skills in the Hands of Women, an evening event in New York City, hosted by BSR’s HERproject, to celebrate International Women’s Day 2020.

Through its tech-enabled learning solutions, and those piloted with brands as a part of HERproject, BSR has identified an opportunity for technology to play an active role in re-dressing gender inequalities.

The event will bring together senior leaders from global brands, HERproject, and the field of technology, to explore the huge potential that exists at the nexus of technology and women’s empowerment.

BSR’s HERproject is the largest workplace-based women’s empowerment initiative operating in global supply chains. Uniting global brands, their suppliers, and expert local partners, HERproject delivers workplace training programs on health, financial inclusion, and gender equality. Since its inception in 2007, HERproject has worked in more than 900 workplaces across 14 countries and has increased the well-being, confidence, and economic potential of more than 1,000,000 women.

At the UNLOCKED event, HERproject will be releasing the results of an impact study of the HERfinance Digital Wages programme in Bangladesh. The results reveal the business and social case for transitioning from cash to digital wages in apparel sector supply chain, demonstrating greater efficiency and transparency for suppliers and brands, and increased financial inclusion for workers.

The evening will include a short film about introducing digital wages, a panel discussion on the power of technology in the hands of women, and a complimentary cocktail reception.

Speakers to be announced in early 2020.
