Ahead of the opening of the 2019 BSR Conference, the BSR Women's Empowerment team is organizing an event on the importance of gender data with the focus on conducting gender-responsive due diligence in supply chains.
Too often, the human rights of women are overlooked by companies’ due diligence approaches, including impact assessments. Women count and need to be counted in. But, practically, how can companies conduct more gender-responsive due diligence approaches, and what role does gender disaggregated data play in this?
The interactive workshop will provide practical answers to this question and is a great opportunity to:
- Hear from expert organizations and companies about the business case for better and more gender data and concrete efforts to collect and use gender data in their programming
- Learn how BSR’s new Gender Data and Impact Tool (funded by the C&A Foundation) is enabling suppliers to collect, analyze and act on gender data
- Share experiences and explore potential collaborations to promote the collection of gender data and the achievement of more gender-equal workplace throughout supply chains.
