New Players at the Climate Action Table: How Younger, High-Growth Companies Can Act on Climate

While the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted many social and economic issues that need to be addressed, environmental issues, such as climate change, should not be ignored because these systemic risks can be even more wide-ranging and disruptive to the global economy and businesses. Additionally, as the U.S. rejoins the Paris Climate Agreement and plans a Leaders’ Climate Summit on Earth Day, April 22, the business community must continue to demonstrate its contribution to keeping global emissions well below 2 degrees Celsius.  So how can a young, high-growth company develop a climate strategy that leapfrogs others and is fitting to their business model, scale and stakeholder expectations?

Join us for a facilitated discussion with BSR’s climate lead David Wei and high-growth company representatives to share approaches and challenges to developing and implementing a climate strategy.

Topics to be covered include:

  • How a younger, fast-growing company can decarbonize its business operations
  • Understanding, setting, and developing a strategy to meet a net zero emissions commitment (hear about Atlassian's climate commitments)
  • How a platform-based technology company can help enable its users to decarbonize

We will also provide some basic next steps to help growing companies understand their climate footprint and then pivot toward these strategic impact opportunities of decarbonization, net zero, and platform enablement.

This convening is by invitation only and is part of a broader series of meetings among young, high-growth companies. Please contact Kelly Gallo if you are interested in attending.
