The Paris Agreement, adopted in December 2015, is a decisive, defining, and catalytic instrument for building a thriving clean economy, and the We Mean Business coalition has provided a successful platform—the “Take Action” commitments—for companies and investors to contribute to this shift. To date, more than 1,000 commitments have been made on this platform by 431 companies representing more than US$8.1 trillion in revenue, and by 183 investors with more than US$20.7 trillion in assets under management.
BSR and CDP—as two of the seven co-founding members of We Mean Business—will hold a half day of workshops on three of the “Take Action” commitments: “Adopt a Science-Based Emissions Reduction Target,” “Remove commodity-driven deforestation from all supply chains by 2020,” and “Commit to 100 Percent Renewable Power." Through these three sessions, participants will hear from companies who have implemented the commitments and from technical experts who will present them in detail.
Whether your company has already made a commitment or is considering doing so, this event will help you understand:

China’s new national Emission Trading Scheme is a critical part of China's plans to use market mechanisms to reach peak emissions before 2030 and net zero by 2060 – it has become the world’s largest emission trading system. The launch of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Net-Zero Standard just before COP26 marks a significant milestone. It is the first independently certifiable standard that assesses a company's net-zero targets, and importantly it clearly grounds them into 1.5°C-aligned short-term and long-term action.
