How organizations can build and sustain an organization whose employees are happy, motivated, and ethical remains one of the most complex, elusive questions confronting business leaders. Organizational culture is determined by the interaction of systems, norms, and values at different levels, all of which influence behavior. There is also a narrow focus on “ethics and compliance” at many companies, which, while it helps them respond to practical concerns and regulatory challenges, can fail to articulate wider considerations of corporate culture and values.
At this BSR members-only breakfast, BSR Director Alison Taylor and Ethical Systems CEO Azish Filabi will lead a wide-ranging conversation on how companies can build more sustainable and ethical cultures. They will discuss how ethics and compliance teams and sustainability teams can work together to create ethical cultures that pay attention to oversight processes, but also value reputation and engagement with all stakeholders.
Ethical Systems was founded as a collaborative project by faculty and ethics researchers at leading business schools to make the world's best research available and accessible, for free, to anyone interested in improving the ethical culture and behavior of an organization. The organization is housed at the NYU Stern School of Business.
