We’re looking for an ESG Senior Manager to join our legal team and lead our Corporate ESG strategies worldwide. We are a small and nimble team supporting a growing company, so you will cover a lot of ground quickly.

The ESG Senior Manager will be a subject matter expert and influential advisor to the senior leadership team. The role provides strategic leadership across a portfolio of ESG areas including sustainability, human rights and labor, social impact and equity, governance, corporate risk, and reporting. The Senior Manager will be a key advisor for enhancing our internal and external communications and public ESG reporting. The position plays a central role in establishing the company’s ESG infrastructure and will progress organizational ESG goals with a focus on leading initiatives and interdisciplinary teams.The Senior Manager will need to be able to comfortably flex between strategy, execution and team engagement as well as rolling up their sleeves and working through project details.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with key internal teams (including Sr. leadership, Investor Relations, Operations, Human Resources, Workplace, Government Relations and Communications) to establish and manage an integrated corporate ESG strategy, with objectives designed to drive business results, reduce risk and enhance the company’s impact on environmental and social issues.
  • Implement processes and establish methodologies to track progress and streamline ESG data, including identifying KPIs to meet ESG goals and targets.
  • Develop and maintain ESG dashboard for tracking and reporting progress against objectives; prepare regular updates to executive team and Board of Directors on ESG trends, priorities and initiatives.
  • Oversee regular benchmarking of Pinterest ESG performance against peers, industry trends and best practices.
  • Lead regular double materiality assessments, ensuring that the company’s strategy remains aligned with strategic objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Partner and manage stakeholder relationships including with the Chief Legal Officer and Head of Investor Relations to advance ESG strategy, reporting and governance.
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and execution of ongoing ESG reporting, including production of an annual ESG Report, investor reporting, regulatory disclosure, and other reporting products as needed.
  • Design and implement ESG reporting and disclosure controls and procedures, including ensuring adherence to regulatory filings.
  • Proactively identify ESG reporting issues, risks, opportunities, and trends that may impact the company and stay abreast of new developments in ESG reporting laws and regulations.
  • Establish and implement a plan to continuously improve Pinterest’s ESG ratings and scores.
  • Oversee establishment and operation of corporate ESG governance in collaboration with the Governance team.
  • Act as an internal strategic advisor on a wide range of ESG topics and manage work streams and teams on program management and execution.
  • Educate and equip internal stakeholders across the company on ESG matters.
  • Engage and raise awareness of ESG commitments and progress to stakeholders, including the investment community.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of professional corporate experience within Sustainability, ESG or related field that includes driving corporate ESG initiatives that tie to strategic business objectives.
  • Experience with applying ESG standards and frameworks when developing corporate strategy and building annual reports (SASB, CDP, TCFD, GRI, etc.)
  • Current and deep knowledge of ESG corporate regulatory trends (NFRD, CSRD, SEC Rule, etc.), ratings, benchmarking, reporting and disclosure and change management.
  • Experience working with investor relations teams and on investor-based initiatives as well as engagement with ESG rating and data organizations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inform, advise and influence senior executives and comfort level with executive engagement.
  • Experience as a successful, detail-oriented sustainability leader who can function independently with diverse stakeholders and manage through influence across all levels and functions.
  • Planning & analytical - capable of quickly synthesizing large amounts of data and aligning to relevant context for management reporting.
  • Cross-functional leadership - experience building a strong team foundation and collegial, reciprocal relationships across an organization
  • Communication - impeccable business writing acumen and demonstrated experience presenting to large, high-profile audiences.
  • Project Management - proactively resets team course to efficiently deploy team resources against shifting priorities.
  • Natural relationship builder, highly capable of influencing and upskilling Executive teams.
  • Proven ability to be successful in a complex, fast-paced environment, planning and managing at both the strategic and operational level, and collaborating with stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong understanding of corporate sustainability and ESG risks across the Communications Services sector.
  • Master’s or graduate degree with a focus on ESG, sustainability, climate or CSR.
  • Experience with Data Privacy is a plus.
