Senior Analyst, Sustainability

Job Description

A regional role who partners with Sustainability Director, Sustainability Managers who based in our sourcing offices, and cross-functional team to improve vendors and factories’ compliance performance and to meet 2030 sustainability goals.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

Vendor and factory remediation and capability building:

  • Support, develop, and evolve Williams-Sonoma’s social compliance program, with a focus on developing a comprehensive and standardized approach to remediate compliance issues and build capabilities to continuously improvement vendors’ and factories’ performance.
  • Research, assess and recommend best practices within the industry/region to share with factories as well as internally to continuously improve Williams-Sonoma program.
  • Develop a data informed approach to systemically prevent issues and build capability at vendors and factories to continuously improve performance.
  • Identify and partner with third party expertise to deploy reputable programs or create curriculum to facilitate vendors and factories to improve.
  • Develop a value-added approach to supply chain traceability and transparency, complement the compliance-oriented approach to traceability.

Social sustainability

  • Support, develop and evolve our social sustainability strategy to meet our 2030 goals.
  • Manage relationship and continue to evolve our strategic partnership with our key partners e.g., FTUSA, Nest, Vision Spring, RISE, and SCORE
  • Build a social impact measurement approach to communication positive social impact progress throughout 2030. In addition, partner with communication team to create meaningful storytelling to motivate change.

Communication and engagement

  • Lead the development and delivery of key trainings to internal associates to increase education and awareness on sustainability.
  • Contribute to developing and executing communications strategies that excite, educate and deepen engagement with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage regular reporting requirements as directed by management

Competencies & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Sustainability or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the field of social responsibility
  • Persuasive communication and presentation skills
  • Strong information-seeking skills and a drive to make things happen
  • Ability to understand challenges or underlying concerns, share ideas and develop effective responses or elevate to higher management
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
  • Ability to network, influence, and utilize internal and external resources
  • Ability to lead initiatives and project teams
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access
