JOB MISSION:

As part of the New Balance Responsible Leadership Team, the Sustainability Analyst will support the department’s needs in the areas of data analysis, policy (research & development) and supplier capability programs. The Sustainability Analyst will engage with internal and external stakeholders on industry leading practices and innovations to help manage risk, elevate labor, health and safety, and sustainability standards in the New Balance supply chain.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage sustainability data utilizing department systems and resources to generate reports and analysis.
  • Analyze data using statistical and data visualization tools to help inform and support NB business decisions.
  • Develop reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders, including senior management, sustainability team, and external partners.
  • Support the creation of learning tools and content to meet the development needs of our supply chain.
  • Conduct research on policy, best practices, and emerging trends in sustainability and identify opportunities to apply these practices within the organization.
  • Work cross functionally to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies and tools to positively impact our supply chain.
  • Support strategic projects (e.g., fair compensation, supply chain mapping) to meet the company’s sustainability targets.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • 3-5 years of experience in managing data and data analysis with programs of increasing complexity; international experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the labor compliance field, human rights, corporate social responsibility, and/or sustainability. Direct experience working in a social compliance function preferred.
  • B.A. degree in relevant course of study (Sustainability Science, Social Sciences, Business Administration, International Relations); preferred advanced degree.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to analyze data sets and new information to drive decision-making and creative problem solving.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural relationship skills; ability to relate to, understand, and work with diverse individuals across business units and geographies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills (complex functions, Macros, data tools, etc.) experience building Spotfire or PowerBI dashboards.
  • Results-driven team player with integrity, trust, perseverance, and patience.
