Job Summary

The Director, Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) Programs and Reporting will report to the Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer and will work collaboratively across functions and play a key role in directing Amneal’s integrated ESG and corporate responsibility strategy, driving and monitoring progress on defined ESG objectives, communicating Amneal’s accomplishments to internal and external stakeholders and building an awareness and culture of sustainability across the Company.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate closely with the Company’s internal stakeholders (including Investor Relations, Engineering, Operations, Human Resources, Environmental Health & Safety, Legal, US Government Business, and Communications) to develop an integrated and coordinated corporate sustainability strategy, with objectives designed to drive business results, reduce risk and enhance the Company’s reputation on environmental and social issues.
  • Partner cross-functionally to build sustainability metrics into short and long-term strategic and operational planning objectives which drive environmental and social initiatives in product development, supply chain, operations, and workforce planning and measure and monitor progress against key strategies, objectives, and performance targets.
  • Develop and lead cross-functional initiatives to improve the company’s ESG performance, including identifying opportunities for improvement, implementing best practices, and engaging with stakeholders to drive change. Initiatives include, but are not limited to, Employee Resource Groups, Global Environmental Working Group, GHG Reporting, DEIB, and charitable giving/volunteering.
  • Collaborate with Investor Relations and Communications to develop strategic communications plans on ESG priorities tailored to various stakeholder groups (internal and external); collaborate with Finance (External Reporting) and Legal on ESG disclosures for annual proxy statement, financial reports; and other regulatory disclosures. Develop a strategy to prepare and meet changing regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Lead Amneal’s ESG reporting practices, including Company’s first material assessment, developing, and publishing Company’s annual ESG report, aligned with leading ESG disclosure standards, coordinating data collection across departments; enhancing enterprise wide ESG reporting standards, tracking and analyzing ESG performance data, and producing reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with key ESG external rating agencies such MSCI, Sustainalytics, and ISS; annually benchmark our ESG progress compared to peers; produce recommendations on disclosures, programs, and/or policies, and work with internal stakeholders to enact these recommendations. Partner closely with teams on industry surveys, information requests, and customer social audits.
  • Manage ongoing development of the internal ESG performance dashboard for quarterly and annual tracking; prepare regular updates to executive team and Board of Directors on ESG trends, priorities, and initiatives
  • Stay up-to-date on regulatory changes (US SEC, EU CSRD) and industry trends related to ESG reporting, communicate information to relevant stakeholders, and integrate new requirements into reporting processes, in collaboration with the controllership organization; stay informed regarding emerging sustainability issues and best practices; identify opportunities for collaboration and assist with development of policy recommendations.
  • Serve as a resource for internal partners for ESG reporting/programs and broader communications needs and opportunities.
  • Champion programs of social awareness, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) and corporate responsibility.
  • Directly manage a global resource and develop strong cross-functional relationships to influence company wide-change.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Finance, Business, Communications, Environmental Studies or related discipline required
  • Advanced degree such as MBA, JD or MA/MS in sustainability, environmental, public policy or related discipline is preferred

Work Experience

  • 8 years or more of Professional experience - Required
  • 3 years or more of Experience related to sustainability/corporate governance/ESG, with direct experience developing and implementing social governance, * CSR/ESG reporting programs - Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Current and clear understanding of broad ESG issues, particularly relating to pharmaceutical, life sciences or broader technology or manufacturing industry - Advanced
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to ESG reporting and experience engaging with various stakeholders on ESG issues - Advanced
  • Experience with reporting standards and frameworks (SASB, CDP, TCFD, SBTi, UNSDG, GRI) - Advanced
  • Strong understanding of ESG assessments and ratings (MSCI, ISS, Sustainalytics, DJSI) - Advanced
  • Subject Matter Expert in carbon footprint measurement, reporting and frameworks (TCFD, CDP, SBTi) - Advanced
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in corporate sustainability within a large, global organization - Advanced
  • Strong network within sustainability, ESG and other related communities a plus - Advanced
  • Experience growing and executing a global program in a publicly traded or and start-up company preferred. - Advanced
  • Proactive, highly motivated self-starter with a high level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Advanced
  • Strategic perspective with strong operational/execution/project management capabilities - Advanced
