Peder Michael drives the strategic direction of BSR's initiatives throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. An expert CSR strategist, he leads member and client consulting and working group efforts in industries that include pharmaceuticals, consumer products, financial services, and transportation.

With extensive experience in both the private and public sector, Peder Michael directs regional BSR grant-related initiatives, including the HERproject expansion to east Africa through a grant from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency. In addition, Peder Michael also sits on the Danish Government's Council on Corporate Responsibility and is a member of GlaxoSmithKline's Stakeholder Panel.

Prior to joining BSR, Peder Michael was a key player in growing PricewaterhouseCoopers' (PwC) Sustainable Business Solutions practice in Copenhagen, where he provided strategic advisory and assurance services to a range of international companies and led PwC and governmental institutions on sustainability issues. Peder Michael also spent five years in the Foreign Service as a diplomat and served on the United Nation's Commission on the Status of Women.

Peder Michael holds both an M.Sc. in International Business Administration and International Cultural Communication and a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School. Peder Michael speaks English, French, Danish, and Swedish.
