Ouida Chichester

With experience in economic development, project implementation, and human rights, particularly in Latin America, Ouida brings a grassroots perspective to her work at BSR.

Prior to joining BSR, Ouida was a Poverty Reduction and MDG intern with the United Nations Development Programme in Belize, where she developed and contributed to projects on issues including water governance, gender equality, and disability rights. She has also worked at Community Partners International, which is the largest independently supported U.S. nonprofit dedicated to the well-being of the people of Myanmar/Burma. Ouida helped build New Global Citizens, an organization dedicated to engaging U.S. youth in global philanthropy and activism. As a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador, she worked closely with youth, women, and grassroots organizations. She is a committee member of the Amnesty International USA Ginetta Sagan Fund.

Ouida holds a B.A. in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College. As a Rotary World Peace Fellow, she obtained an M.A. in International Relations from the Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a focus on economics, cooperation, and development. She is fluent in Spanish.
