With a strong management background, Chhavi brings critical leadership to BSR, with a particular emphasis on sustainability in emerging markets including India, Latin America, and the Middle East. 

Recent projects included an India-specific sustainability report for a global electronics manufacturer, a review of the sustainability landscape in India for a major global retailer, a stakeholder engagement and materiality project for a large Brazilian bank, and human rights training for SMEs in Saudi Arabia.  Currently, Chhavi is leading BSR’s HERfinance program in India, a cross-sector partnership among consumer products companies, their suppliers, local NGOs, and other stakeholders aimed at bringing garment workers into the formal banking system. 

Prior to joining BSR, Chhavi worked for an SRI firm where he combined financial analysis with ESG analysis to make sustainable investment recommendations. He also spent several years as an operations manager for Oracle, where he managed the company's Asia-Pacific and Americas regions and opened a new operation for the company in India. His other experience includes developing a CSR strategy for a spirits company in Mexico and working as a freelance CSR consultant for the Institute of Public Health.

Chhavi holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business and an M.A. in International Studies from the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania. He holds a B.A. in English and Computer Science from Rutgers University. Chhavi speaks both Spanish and Hindi.
