When the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a global call to action and universal roadmap to end global poverty and protect the planet, they promised to deliver a future in which no one would be left behind by 2030. Halfway to its deadline, progress on the 2030 Agenda is weak and socio-economic inequality continues to grow. However, business-led multi-stakeholder collaborations play a critical role in bridging these gaps. 

Drawing upon BSR’s extensive expertise in incubating, designing, and facilitating collaborative initiatives, this webinar presents the findings of our upcoming report and explores how business-led multi-stakeholder collaboration can help to advance the SDGs and contribute to poverty reduction. During the webinar, BSR will share key insights from its report and leverage concrete examples of collaborative initiatives incubated through the CoLab SDGs program, a partnership with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

Laura supports BSR’s sustainability management work across industries. She has also worked on several of BSR’s multistakeholder collaborations, including the Global Impact Sourcing Coalition and Maritime Anti-Corruption Network.
Prior to joining BSR, Laura was the director of the Copenhagen branch of a global social impact consultancy advising startup companies and social enterprises on fundraising and communications strategies as well as social impact creation and measurement. She also held an internship position at a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the rights of women journalists. Laura speaks German, English, and Spanish.
Laura holds an M.Sc. in Business and Development Studies with a Minor in Sustainable Business and Entrepreneurship and a B.Sc. in Business, Language, and Culture, both from Copenhagen Business School.

Nicolas leads BSR's incubation of private-sector collaboration, mobilizing the collective power of business to solve some of the world’s biggest sustainability challenges. He supervises the financial performance and pipeline of new initiatives in BSR’s collaborations portfolio.
He has worked in the nonprofit sector for more than 20 years, engaging multi-company and multi-stakeholder collaborations in pursuit of shared business and societal outcomes globally. Previously, he consulted for companies, governments, and civil society organizations on the positive environmental, social, and economic impacts of their activities. Before that, he was a consultant working on social issues.
Nicolas holds a DBA (ABD) in Business Administration from the École des Ponts Business School, a MS in Economic Evaluation from Université Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, a MS in Policy Analysis and Management from the New School University, and a BA in Anthropology from Los Andes University. He speaks English, Spanish and French.
