Laura Macias

Laura works in BSR’s HERproject and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practice, working at the intersection of the private sector and social impact. 

Laura contributes to HERproject’s workplace programs in global supply chains, mainly in North Africa and Latin America, by conducting research and program management. Laura advises organizations across the globe in DEI strategies, with a special focus on gender equality. Laura also works on the Keeping Workers in the Loop project, a collaboration of industry leaders and stakeholders exploring the just transition of the fashion industry to a circular model. 

Prior to joining BSR, Laura was part of the OECD Observatory of Public Sector Innovation in Paris, researching innovation trends and the relationship between innovation, artificial intelligence, and diversity. She worked at UNICEF for four years in corporate partnerships and fundraising while based in her home country of Colombia. Laura has experience working with HIV-positive vulnerable women in Kenya, helping them strengthen and build small businesses for economic empowerment.

Laura is also a columnist on topics related to gender equality and speaks Spanish, English, and French. She has a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and she completed a fellowship in public leadership at the Universidad de los Andes.
