Annelise Thim

Annelise works with BSR members across sectors to promote diversity, equity and inclusion through consulting, collaboration, and research. In particular, she works with members and other partners to advance women’s empowerment and gender equality across their value chains. Her areas of expertise include social impact-related assessments, strategy and program design, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and strategic partnerships.

Prior to joining BSR, Annelise worked at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), where she led the OECD Policy Dialogue on Women’s Economic Empowerment, a global multi-stakeholder platform to promote women’s economic empowerment. Her research focused on social norms, discrimination, and economic empowerment. During her time at the OECD, she worked on the Social Institutions and Gender Index (SIGI), conducted research, and led trainings on social norms and gender equality. She also worked closely with funders to ensure their development programming supported gender equality and women’s empowerment and worked on issues such as combatting sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment.

Annelise holds a M.A. in International Relations from the American University of Paris and a B.A. in International Affairs and French from the University of Georgia.
