Mariana works with member companies across the energy and extractives and financial services industries to effectively assess human rights impacts, develop sustainability strategies, and integrate ESG opportunities.

Prior to joining BSR, Mariana worked as a Stakeholder Management Specialist at Antofagasta Minerals, where she developed sustainability strategies to advance human rights, communicated ESG performance to key stakeholders, and orchestrated public-private partnerships for social impact projects in local communities. While pursuing her Master’s degree, Mariana interned at the United Nations Foundation and worked on its Corporate Engagement team, and she consulted for Nordea Asset Management on responsible investment in extractive industries. She also worked as a Program Officer at Rights CoLab, an organization that fosters collaboration among experts across business, finance, civil society and technology fields.

Mariana holds an M.I.A. from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and a B.A. in International Affairs and Environmental Studies from Northeastern University. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
