The global pandemic continues to shine a spotlight on the vast socioeconomic disparities in the world. Vulnerable groups—including women, children, indigenous peoples, migrant workers, LGBTIQ people, and the elderly, to name a few—are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 and lack adequate social protections to shield them from the social and economic fallout of the crisis. From migrant workers in Singapore and the Gulf housed in crowded dormitories to children facing an uncertain future, companies will be judged not just by the way they shape their responses to crises today, but on how they treat the most vulnerable groups in the future.
