Manufacturing is a driving force in the Chinese economy, but the industry is increasingly challenged by overseas competition and new expectations from workers. With BSR’s extensive experience in sustainable supply chain management, BSR members often ask us how to improve worker retention and satisfaction. Our answer lies in investing in women workers. Women make up a majority of China’s manufacturing sector, and businesses that invest in women’s skills, capacity, and empowerment will be better equipped to succeed.

In our latest webinar, BSR will explore how brands and factories operating in China can participate in our newest project, Women in Factories, funded by the Walmart Foundation. Participating brands and factories will receive free capacity building and training for their human resources departments, and their women workers will receive 100 hours of life and career training.
