Job Description

The Social Responsibility (SR) program drives customer trust and business continuity by ensuring respect for the rights of workers throughout Amazon’s supply chain and operations. We uphold company standards and expectations (such as Amazon’s Supply Chain Standards), and seek to constantly improve the tools and processes that we use in doing so.

We are looking for a Social Responsibility Program Manager to design and develop supplier improvement programs that scale across Amazon’s diverse and growing supplier base. The program manager will be responsible for program design, development, and initial roll-out across high-risk sourcing regions, partnering closely with SR’s regional teams to adapt and implement programs in-country. The program manager will be expected to handle day-to-day issues (constantly thinking about how to invent and simplify to improve), but will also be expected to strategize on longer-term, program-wide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop communications and self-service tools that can reach a large number of SR, supplier, and business stakeholders at scale to effectively implement programs;
  • Design and develop programs related to labor, health and safety, and/or environmental issues;
  • Develop mechanisms to monitor progress over time, and partner with business teams to motivate and reward performance;
  • Identify and research programmatic opportunities (tools, resources, process gaps) and use a data-driven approach to write project proposals/white papers;
  • Analyze data to track trends and initiate deep dives to detect opportunities;
  • Coordinate with multiple Amazon businesses and functions, as well as third-party audit firms and suppliers;
  • Develop and improve project and program management processes, prioritizing ways to leverage technology and automate;
  • Create operational metrics and business reporting;
  • Innovate with regard to data collection and analysis, methodologies, and technology.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • 5+ years of experience working in environment, health, and/or safety initiatives in global organizations;
  • Experience with written and verbal communication in a professional environment;
  • Experience analyzing and proposing data-driven solutions;
  • Experience creating reports and presenting to a variety of audiences;
  • Ability to prioritize effectively to manage multiple, changing priorities;
  • Proficiency in Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background in supply chain improvement programs;
  • Experience with workflow management systems;
  • Knowledge of industrial engineering;
  • Knowledge of SQL or Tableau;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment; and
  • Ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems; identifying customer needs and inventing new and efficient ways to meet those needs.
  • Equally proficient in Word writing documents as in Excel doing analysis
  • Someone with a keen ability to influence without authority
  • Experience in environment, health, and/or safety initiatives implemented across global operations or supply chains
  • A customer obsessed problem solver who can effectively prioritize work
  • A self-starter who over-indexes on ownership and accountability
  • Familiar with retail, private brands, or sourcing
  • Energized by the opportunity to work on a global team
  • Equally proficient in Word writing documents as in Excel doing analysis
