Senior Program Manager—ESG Reporting (Social)

Job Description

The WW Sustainability External Relations team is looking for a results-oriented and collaborative manager to lead strategic reporting and communications initiatives for social impact issues and topic areas at Amazon. This is a high-impact role that requires a solid understanding of the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) landscape and implications for Amazon’s business and societal impact.

An ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of global ESG issues and the evolving non-financial reporting landscape, along with specialized knowledge in areas including human rights, supply chain responsibility, workforce development, and/or workplace safety. This role will require a significant amount of stakeholder engagement with diverse audiences and teams across Amazon, both within WW Sustainability and beyond, to deliver insights and collaborate on reporting efforts. This work will drive greater transparency and trust with Amazon’s customers and meet global corporate sustainability reporting regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead stakeholder engagement with teams to align strategic reporting efforts with disclosure priorities, goal-setting, and programmatic development;
  • Maintain knowledge of reporting best practices, regulatory developments, and stakeholder needs based on relevant issue areas;
  • Monitor global trends and regional/local needs in locations where Amazon operates;
  • Provide insights and guidance to teams on evolving disclosure requirements;
  • Shape the external narrative on complex social impact and responsibility topics, partnering across multiple internal organizations and business units;
  • Partner with editorial team members to develop, write, and edit content, including stories, case studies, program overviews, and data reporting;
  • Facilitate meetings and reviews with all levels of Amazon management and external stakeholders;
  • Manage execution, coordination, and promotion of reports and publications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6+ years of experience in project and/or program management related to social management systems, human rights, and human capital programs;
  • 2+ years of experience developing and improving policies and processes;
  • Knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks, Human Rights Impact Assessments, and Saliency Assessments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate degree in law, public policy, business, sustainability, communications or similar advanced degree;
  • A highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, complex concepts, and proposals to engage and influence senior leadership, stakeholder, and peer groups;
  • Experience owning ambiguous program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership;
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives independently while managing multiple competing priorities;
  • Ability to anticipate potential reputational issues and exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow time frames;
  • Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating escalations to senior management;
  • Experience working in or with governments and engaging on public policy.
