Position Summary…

Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

What you’ll do…

Develops and drives grant portfolio strategies for large, complex social initiatives (for example, hunger relief, career opportunities) by partnering with senior leadership on the company vision for related portfolios; analyzing industry practices, social issues, and population data; overseeing strategic planning with external consultants; developing portfolio strategies to drive innovative solutions across the industry; collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate related initiatives into the program portfolio; networking with internal and external stakeholders (for example, grant making organizations) to drive portfolio enhancements; overseeing and managing the budget for grant funding; communicating the portfolio strategy to senior leadership; and leading the communication strategy to ensure programs are integrated into external stakeholder messaging.

Drives the execution of portfolio strategies by determining innovations and vetting organizations to support strategies; developing strategic engagement models for program execution; collaborating with external parties (for example, grant making organizations, non-profit organizations) regarding grant funding; aligning grants with the strategic vision for the initiative and prioritizing based on alignment; identifying opportunities to leverage business assets to achieve company goals; analyzing the financial implications of grant proposals; negotiating with external organizations regarding grant funding; overseeing the implementation of grant funds; ensuring funding complies with agreed upon terms; and analyzing and reporting progress of grant portfolio to senior leadership.

Leads the innovation of grant portfolios for large, complex social initiatives (for example, hunger relief, career opportunities) by aligning with and influencing industry leaders on social initiatives; researching industry solutions and developing innovative programs for Walmart; developing the framework for the portfolio based on innovative solutions; creating metrics to drive program tracking; and communicating innovations to internal and external stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Masters degree in Business Administration
  • 3 years experience in financial planning and analysis, with exposure to ESG.
  • 3 years experience working on environmental or social issues, including program impact evaluation.
  • 3 years experience managing multiple, concurrent projects.
  • 2 years experience managing external & internal stakeholders.
  • 2 years experience working in a communications function on environmental or social topics.
  • Familiarity with ESG reporting standards, such as GRI and SASB

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, humanities, marketing, communication, journalism or related field and 4 years’ experience in non-profit management, grant-making, or related field OR 7 years’ experience in non-profit management, grant-making, or related field.
