Under the direction of the Director, provide leadership, direction, and execution of ELC’s citizenship and sustainability programs across brands, regions, and functions. Collaborate cross-functionally on the development of innovative systems and strategies; protect and elevate the Company’s reputation; and maximize ELC’s impact as a leader in citizenship and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have worked in a multi-branded retail company and/or another industry with a high profile consumer brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, planning and execution of citizenship and sustainability programs
  • Collaborate across functions and with external stakeholder groups to achieve key goals; develop strong relationships and partnerships
  • Maintain understanding of leading trends and changes in corporate social responsibility, brand purpose and overall sustainability landscape
  • Serve as a contact and information source for sustainability initiatives
  • Track budgets, schedules and work plans
  • Write and edit materials promoting our citizenship and sustainability programs and activities via the company intranet, corporate website and our digital channels
  • Manage metrics and reporting on performance
  • Manage the creation of reports and presentations for the division for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support an annual benchmarking initiative on ELC and Brand initiatives by collecting, synthesizing and analyzing industry data and preparing a report for senior management
  • Partner Director to ensure compliance on all citizenship and sustainability programs, including legal, tax and other regulatory requirements; establish clear guidelines and processes.

Candidate Profile

  • At least five years of demonstrated success in sustainability program execution, and partnership development
  • Knowledge of the social and environmental issues and NGO landscape
  • Strong project management skills
  • Outstanding writing and speaking skills
  • Pro-active; entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to set priorities and allocate resources to achieve goals and objectives
  • A track record of building strong relationships with members of cross-functional and affiliate teams
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to execute multiple, simultaneous projects with quality results
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, business administration and marketing or the sciences
  • Fluency in at least one language in addition to English preferred

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education level: B.A.; advanced degree in environmental sciences, management, policy a plus
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 5
  • Required Language Proficiency:English; Additional Languages a plus
