Job Description

The Director, ESG Program will be responsible for the development and implementation of Flowserve’s enterprise-wide strategy for its ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) program. The position will report directly to the Vice President, Corporate and Commercial Law and will also work closely with the ESG Executive Steering Committee and Operations teams. The Director, ESG Program will work across all businesses and departments to ensure that ESG initiatives enhance Flowserve’s business performance and lead to shareholder and stakeholder value, meet Flowserve’s ESG goals, and support the Flowserve brand and company image.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Co-develop external stakeholder engagement strategy with internal partners and own relationships from an ESG perspective through thoughtful and strategic stakeholder engagement with raters and rankers
  • Conduct gap analyses on key ESG disclosures and rankings to identify and prioritize areas of opportunity and future score estimates based on Enterprise roadmaps.
  • Leads completion of relevant surveys and disclosures with prioritized ESG stakeholders and partners with firms to update and ensure accuracy of Company information.
  • Lead materiality assessments and strategic stakeholder communications
  • Support data governance and controls to ensure complete and accurate data, including data processes, validation and quality assessments.
  • Build ESG metrics into short and long-range business planning, capital planning, and operations planning
  • Discover, analyze, and interpret ESG trends, policies, regulatory actions, and key ESG-related topics; develop insights and reports for leadership
  • Scope, define, and lead projects; manage project plans, create dashboards/tools, present to leaders, and escalate risks when needed
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders, creates complete project plans, including scope, cost estimates, resource allocation, work plans, time schedules, communication and training plans, and work assignments
  • Executes projects within the expected timeline, on budget, and in scope
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • B.A, B.S, or equivalent degree
  • 7-9 years business experience or equivalent professional experience
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), including ability to communicate complex information in a short, easy-to-understand format, as well as the ability to build consensus, facilitate working sessions and negotiate solutions and alternatives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including a friendly and professional demeanor, cooperative partnership approach, and an ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment with people of many countries and cultures, and at all levels of the organization
  • Highly organized self-starter proficient at multi-tasking and managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Meaningful and proven experience with project management, developing a strategy and implementing a robust project plan that supports the strategy
  • Ability to resolve conflicting high-priority requirements
  • Have a practical, business oriented, risk-based approach to problem-solving
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
  • Must be fluent in English

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Expertise in environmental and social issues, and key stakeholders (investors, raters, rankers, NGOs, government/regulators)
  • Experience with ESG reporting standards, requirements, and common frameworks, e.g. SASB, TCFD, GRI, etc.
  • Experience in ESG disclosure and corporate reporting, including surveys, annual reports, ratings; ability to evaluate performance holistically and share with leadership
  • Proven ability to research, analyze and interpret trends and develop reports for leadership
  • Exceptional problem solving, analytical and data analysis skills
  • Proven ability to manage projects and strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to communicate with all levels
  • Ability to create compelling materials to align teams and drive to decisions (PowerPoint)
