Reporting to the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, the Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist will focus on external and internal communication, community relations, agreement compliance and coordination of the community contribution program for the Goldcorp Coffee Project.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the external communication strategy for the Coffee Gold Project for a diverse range of stakeholders including first nations, government, local community members, suppliers/contractors, and civil society partners.
  • Manage event planning for roadshows, tradeshows and conferences including event registrations, scheduling and fulfilling sponsorship requirements (ads produced, swag ordered, booth delivered, producing promo materials – fact sheets, booths, signage, etc)
  • Develop content - writing, editing and collecting/editing photos and videos for online & print publications to communicate key messages about the project with external stakeholders
  • Organize, design PPTs and speak at community presentations
  • Develop the annual community investment strategy and administer the investment program
  • Provide negotiation and implementation support for all community agreements
  • Provide community relations support
  • Assisting with other related CSR and communications activities as required

Requirements

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Able to manage a high volume of information and inquiries
  • Post-secondary education – certificate, diploma or degree in communications, marketing, public relations, community development, aboriginal studies, social sciences or related field and proven ability to understand and apply communications principles and practices
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a communications, CSR or community engagement role
  • Advanced computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft office suite and InDesign experience an asset
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Able to prioritize effectively to ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced project environment
  • Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment
  • Knowledge or experience in the Yukon Territory and a general understanding of mining is an asset
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
