Where BSR Will Be in March 2017

In a month jam-packed with sustainability events, BSR staff seem to be nearly circumnavigating the globe to attend many of them. From the Climate Leadership Conference in Chicago to the 2017 OECD Integrity Forum in Paris, here are the global events that BSR staff are attending and speaking at in March.

Where We’ll Be

  • March 1: Managing Director Edward Cameron will speak in the opening plenary of the Climate Leadership Conference in Chicago.
  • March 1-2: Manager Maurice Meehan will present “Shipper-Driven Trends for Transport and Logistics” and moderate the session “Blockchain and Its Impact on the Maritime Industry” at the Digital Ship Conference in Copenhagen.
  • March 2-3: Manager Emma Grande will attend the LAUNCH Circular Innovation Summit at Nike’s global headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.
  • March 2-4: Manager Berkley Rothmeier, Manager Samantha Harris, and Associate Beth Richmond will attend a Climate Reality Leadership Corps training hosted by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and the Climate Reality Project in Denver, Colorado.
  • March 3: Communications Manager Julia Robinson will speak to students of Georgetown University's Global Strategic Communications Executive Master’s program about how to link sustainability and communications for better business outcomes in San Francisco.
  • March 6-8: Associate Director Roger McElrath and Manager Ouida Chichester will attend the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada Convention in Toronto. Chichester will participate in the “Women and Mining: Toward Gender Equity” session.
  • March 7: Managing Director Tara Norton and Manager Emilie Prattico will co-host a high-level roundtable, “Financing Solutions for the Supply Chain to Catalyze Deep and Sustainable Change,” with BNP-Paribas Corporate and Institutional Banking in Paris.
  • March 7-8: Cameron will speak at the Responsible Investment Forum in New York.
  • March 8: Manager Magali Barraja will attend the OECD’s Conference on Business, Finance, and Gender in Paris.
  • March 9: Associate Martin Benderson will present the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network’s Collective Action Program at the World Customs Organization Capacity-Building Week in Brussels.
  • March 10: Director Alison Taylor will speak at the Fletcher Political Risk Conference in Boston.
  • March 10-16: Communications Coordinator Katie Morris will attend South by Southwest’s interactive track in Austin, Texas.
  • March 14: Managing Director Elisa Niemtzow, Associate Director Armel Yver, and Associate Indiana Vieljeux will attend the event “It’s Luxe Time” in Paris.
  • March 14-15: HERproject Director Christine Svarer will moderate the “WEPs Gap Analysis Tool Breakfast Launch” at the 2017 Women’s Empowerment Principles Forum in New York. 
  • March 15: Prattico will speak on the panel “Science-Based Targets: Align Companies’ Carbon Strategy with the 2˚C Goal” at the Produrable trade show in Paris.
  • March 20-22: Managers Kelly Gallo and Roberta Pinamonti will attend the RECS Market Conference in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
  • March 22-24: Meehan will speak on the panel “Navigating Decarbonization: Setting the Roadmap for Managing Shipping’s ‘Fair Share’ of Global Emissions Reduction” at the Green Ship Technology Conference in Copenhagen.
  • March 29: Director Lin Wang will attend the Women’s Economic Empowerment Milestone and Symposium in Washington, D.C. 
  • March 29-31: Managing Director Dunstan Allison-Hope will moderate a session on human rights impact assessments at RightsCon in Brussels.
  • March 30-31: Taylor will speak on the high-level closing plenary “Equality, Inclusion, Trust: The Real Value of Integrity” at the 2017 OECD Integrity Forum in Paris.
