Thuy Phung

Thuy works with BSR member companies across industries on sustainability strategy, materiality assessments, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and ethics and governance.

Prior to joining BSR, Thuy was an Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps fellow at Abbott Laboratories, where she conducted an assessment of Abbott’s global energy profile and provided recommendations for setting 2030 greenhouse gas reduction targets. She was also a forestry and land use policy advisor with Climate Focus, where she worked with governments, communities, and companies to reduce deforestation and forest degradation in Southeast Asia. Prior to that, she was a consultant at ICF International, focusing on climate change vulnerability assessment, greenhouse gas accounting, and resilience and mitigation strategies.

Thuy holds a Master’s of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, with a focus on Business and the Environment, and a B.A. in Economics and Environmental Policy from Williams College.
