Mary Ellen focuses on the healthcare practice, working with companies across BSR services within the areas of sustainability integration and strategy, human rights, stakeholder and investor engagement, supply chain sustainability, climate change, access to healthcare, and global health, among others. She also supports healthcare collaborations, including the Healthcare Working Group.
Prior to joining BSR, Mary Ellen spent six years working in sustainability consulting providing sustainability services, such as materiality, strategy, and reporting, to multinational and Fortune 500 companies across industries and regions, gaining expertise in sustainable healthcare. She previously worked as a medical and clinical research specialist of non-communicable diseases at Vanderbilt University and formerly was a chemical ecology researcher at the University of Tennessee.
Mary Ellen holds a M.S. from Lund University as an Erasmus Mundus scholar in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, and she holds a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cellular Molecular Biology from University of Tennessee.
