Erik develops and implements BSR’s grand-funded initiatives focused on supply chain sustainability, climate change, and women’s empowerment in the Asia-Pacific region. He also contributes to communications and consulting projects.
Before BSR, Erik worked for the Centre for International Governance Innovation, supporting its research on cyber security, as well as the Canada-Japan Futures Forum, investigating challenges faced by startups in the green tech sector. Before that, he worked extensively as a policy adviser with the UN system on climate change, information and communications technology, disaster risk reduction, and women’s empowerment. He started his career in management consulting and he has applied his extensive experience in communications and new media to a wide range of his work.
Erik has worked in 22 countries, with a specific focus on Asia and Africa. He speaks English, Indonesian, and basic German.
He holds an M.Sc. in Development Planning from University of Guelph and a B.Sc with Honors in Biology from Queens University.
