Recent supply chain crises across industries and regions have prompted many companies to re-evaluate their own overall approach to supply chain sustainability, including management practices and tools, employee incentives, and allocation of resources.

This workshop will bring together senior managers responsible for the purchasing and or sustainable supply chain activities in their companies to learn from BSR, external experts and each other about new thinking on organizational structures and internal management practices related to sustainable supply chain management. The workshop will be open to a maximum of 20 people and is strictly by invitation only.

Some of the key topics for discussion will include:

  • Cross-industry analysis of sustainable sourcing successes and challenges
  • Leading thinking on buyer and social / environmental auditor roles, responsibilities, incentives, and career paths
  • New tools to promote sustainable purchasing among buyers, including scorecards, management systems, tools for measuring supplier risk, and innovative training programs
  • Shift of focus from audit to capacity building
  • Allocation of financial resources within (sustainable) sourcing departments

The workshop will be facilitated by Tara Norton, Director, Advisory Services, BSR and Cecile Oger, Manager, Advisory Services, BSR
