Chloё Poynton

Having worked in Sierra Leone, Sudan, Thailand, and Tanzania, Chloё brings a global perspective to her work at BSR. From interviewing refugees in Tanzania to drafting strategic recommendations for Fortune 500 companies, Chloё’s experience has brought her from the field to the board room. She brings this varied expertise to her work advising pharmaceutical, ICT, and financial services companies on a range of issues, including stakeholder engagement, CSR reporting, and human rights.

Prior to BSR, Chloё worked for the United Nations Development Programme in Sierra Leone, where she served as an electoral advisor to the government, and the International Organization for Migration in Sudan, where she helped design an Out-of-Country voting system for the Southern Sudan Referendum. Chloё’s consulting experience includes providing strategic recommendations for Merck and the Wellcome Trust’s public-private partnership to increase access to vaccines in the developing world as well as performing market research for food, beverage, financial services, and consumer products companies at Fusion Hill, the Minneapolis-based market research firm.

Chloё holds an M.A. in Public Affairs from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School with a concentration in Development Studies, and a B.A. in Anthropology and International Studies from Macalester College, where she graduated with honors. Chloё was a 2006-2007 Watson Fellow, which provided her the opportunity to travel the world researching how the international community responds to forced migration issues.
