Alejandra comes to BSR with more than 10 years of professional and consulting experience in rural community enterprise and development, indigenous peoples rights, biodiversity conservation, stakeholder engagement, and corporate social responsibility. Equipped with extensive knowledge of the CSR field and the unique challenges facing extractives industries in Latin America, Alejandra works with clients—both in the field and in the board room—on stakeholder engagement strategies, effective communication training, outreach and responsible labor.
In addition to promoting company-community partnerships and increasing market access for local organizations, Alejandra has worked with well-known international institutions, including the Global Environment Facility, the UN Development Programme, Forest Trends, the Rights and Resources Group, and the World Bank.
Alejandra is a Mexican national who has lived in Costa Rica, Brazil and Mexico. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Alejandra holds a M.A. in Urban and Environmental Policy from Tufts University and a B.A. with honors in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
